How do you know if a watch is suitable for diving?

A diving watch allows you to wear it underwater, so it must be waterproof and able to withstand high pressure. Each watch has a measurement in bar and ATM that indicates how much pressure the watch can withstand. For example, a 5 bar or ATM waterproof watch means it can withstand pressure at a depth of 50m. However, a 30m waterproof watch is not actually waterproof to a depth of 30m underwater. This means it can withstand pressure equivalent to 3 ATM, i.e., splashes, hand washing, and dishes, but nothing more. For diving, we recommend at least choosing a watch with a resistance to a depth of 100m or a pressure of 10 ATM. For more experienced divers, we recommend at least a 20 ATM or even 30 ATM watch.
